Harris and Biden Spar Over Candidates
Vice President Mike Pence and Senator Kamala Harris took the stage Wednesday night October 7, 2020 for the Vice Presidential Debate. One of the topics that was at the forefront of the discussion was the Coronavirus, and each candidate’s idea of handling the virus. Harris pointed out the “failure” that the Trump administration has had in dealing with the virus. While Pence says that Biden does not even have a plan to combat the virus.
The audience was able to see each candidates beliefs and principles on trial during the debate. Pence talked about Biden’s negligence as vice president, and Harris’s troubling record as DA in San Francisco and Attorney General of California. Harris discussed how Trump has disappointed the American people with his inability to contain the virus, and his comments on white supremacy.
The debate showed Harris and Pence shining a light on the shortcomings of the opposing candidate. Instead of spending more time on the topic of race or immigration which are relevant issues, the debate was about the opposing ideologies.
